Page-edge printing extends a book design onto the trimmed edges of the page block. It may use a coordinated colour, a pattern or artwork that forms part of a special edition. The view of the closed book is an important part of the design brief.
Show which edges receive the artwork and how it should appear relative to the cover and spine. Include trim size, paper, page count, binding and quantities by version. Discuss detail and colour expectations on the actual proposed book rather than relying only on a digital mock-up.
